I had a great conversation with my student today
Student: Tiffany, what are you going to do next year
Me: I'm moving to California
Student: What? Why? So you're going to leave us? What's in California?
Me: I want to go to school out there, and my sister lives out there
Student: Your sister? Like your blood sister?
Me: Yeah, my blood sister
Student: Is she older?
Me: Yeah she's 23
Student: I don't believe you
Me: No really she is. Here's a picture
Student: Are you twins?
Me: No, I just told you she's older
Student: She doesn't look like you
Me: Well that's my sister
Student: Are you two twins?
Me: No, she's older and you just said we don't look alike
What made this conversation even more awesome is that it was with my student Wilmer. Wilmer is quite the character and that we kept going back and forth on things. About my sister, about my mom (which he didn't believe was my mom) and about my dad. It was really the most interesting conversations I've had in months... no that's a lie.. I had a good conversation with his twin brother when I got back from winter break. They're too much for me.
